When we first built our home we had a hard time finding a chandelier and sconces for our dining room. We hung this shell chandelier and matching sconces as place holders until we found just the right fixtures.
It's been over 8 years, and we finally found the perfect chandelier at Highpoint a couple of months ago. It's a 19th century French Louis XVI fixture. I fell in love with its tarnished gilt finish and the single tassel that hangs from the bottom.
We also purchased these 18 Century Italian sconces to replace the shell ones above the fireplace, but they are going into one of my favorite client's bedroom instead (clients first!).
I'm going to hang these 19th Century Italian candle holders above the fireplace for now until I find another pair of sconces (hopefully it won't take 8 years this time!)
Here's a picture of how the candles look. Hmmm... I may just leave them!
My French chandelier and Italian candle holders make a lovely set.
I'd love to hear what you think of the lighting changes in my dining room. Oh, and if you are interested in my shell chandelier and sconces, just email me!
