As I wrote at the end of our book, Patina Farm, Steve and I are big believers in dreams. One of the main reasons we built Patina Farm was to show our children that if you work hard enough, any dream can become a reality. So when our son, Charlie, shared with us his dream of becoming a clothing designer, Steve and I wanted to support him in any way that we could. After many long talks on our morning walks, we realized that we could help Charlie further his passion for clothing design while solving our clothes shopping frustration. Like many of you, Steve and I often have an image of a piece of clothing that we would love to have in our wardrobe only to be disappointed by the inability to find it. If we are lucky, we might find what we are looking for... almost! The original garment is often ill-fitting, too fussy, or not up to the quality we expect. We decided to ask Charlie if he would be interested in designing some of the clothing that we have always wanted in our wardrobe. Being his father's son, Charlie said "Sure! How hard can it be?" Haha!
After a year of refinement, Charlie, Steve and I would like to introduce our first Giannetti Clothing "easy pieces," those comfortable garments in your closet that you want to wear every day. Our clothing reflects our design philosophy of creating the highest quality, classic pieces with beautiful, natural materials in a soothing color palette.

The first pieces that I asked Charlie to make were lightweight cashmere hoodies. I wanted a cashmere sweater that was light enough to layer all year long.
I also wanted this garment to feel clean and unfussy... no big front pocket or excess seams, and a simple raw edge at the bottom and on the sleeves. It needed to be big enough to wear as a layer over a shirt without looking too oversized. I also wanted the cashmere to be soft enough to wear over a tank top with arms exposed.
I was so happy with the short hoodie that I asked Charlie to create a longer version, a cozy cashmere cardigan that I could pair with a casual outfit or wrap myself up in for an evening out.
The color palette we chose compliments our home designs. To make this point, we decided to take some photographs of our clothing pieces in one of our clients' homes that we recently completed.

Like our women's clothing, our men's pieces are classic designs made of natural materials with the highest quality detailing.
Together, Steve and Charlie created a simplified motorcycle jacket in Belgian linen...
and in the softest Italian suede.
Both styles pair beautifully with our Giannetti Supima Cotton t-shirt, made from a heavyweight cotton. Our t-shirts taper in the body for a more fitted look. The slightly tapered sleeve feels trimmer on your arm.
You can view all of our Giannetti clothing pieces in more detail on our website, Giannetti Home. To celebrate our new designs, we are having a giveaway!
