Happy New Year! I hope 2016 is off to a wonderful start. We had a very relaxed holiday with our children in San Francisco. It was fantastic to slow down for a whole week.
Before we left on our trip, we received the best gift. Madge Baird, our thoughtful editor at Gibbs Smith, sent us two copies of Patina Farm (Thank you Madge!!!)! Steve and I stopped everything we were doing and spent the next hour looking at our book. I think you are going to love it!
In each chapter we walk you through the different areas in our home, explaining how the architecture and interior design decisions we made support our life with our family, friends and our animals.
The photographs by Lisa Romerein really capture the calm beauty of Patina Farm.
My favorite pages in each chapter are Steve's drawings. Each drawing includes a floor plan of a portion of the house as well as several charming sketches that point out special details in each space.
For those of you who are happiest in the garden and love animals as much as I do, you are really going to enjoy the "Farming" section of Patina Farm! In this chapter, Steve's drawing shows how we laid out our gardens, and I share what I've learned during the past couple of years...
Although the official publication date for Patina Farm is March 8, 2016, you can pre-order you copy on Amazon now!
Steve and I send our wishes for a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. May 2016 be filled with wonderful times with the people and animals that you love!
