Our life on Patina Farm has evolved over the past two and a half years. With the addition of our four miniature Sicilian donkeys and our three little African Pygmy goats, we have found the need to add a few farm structures to our property. The latest addition is our donkey barn.
As you can see from this image, we created a larger barn by connecting two smaller wood sheds with a galvanized roof.
We stained the cedar sheds with the same stain that we used on all of the wood structures, Super Deck "Weathered Wood". Not only do the new sheds provide much needed extra storage, they also do a wonderful job hiding our new solar panels that are located just behind.
We placed a pair of vintage shutters over both windows...
and added a vintage barn cupola on the roof to give the barn some character.
We use the first shed (closest to the donkey enclosure) for hay storage. The second shed works as a garage for our little Kawasaki Mule. The covered area between the two sheds will provide shelter for the donkeys when it rains (praying for El Nino!).
We've made a few other changes at Patina Farm... Now that the donkeys and goats have gotten used to each other, we cut a goat size hole in the donkey fence....
The opening allows Thelma, Louise and Dot to visit with the donks!

We often see Daisy, Buttercup, Blossom and Huck roaming with the three little goats...
All of our animals add so much excitement to our days. We are all one big happy family!
