Spring is a busy season here at Patina Farm!
We just added four new little girls to our flock. They won't be introduced to the other gals in the coop for a few months... For now, they are hanging out in Nick's room (he's away at college). We are looking forward to trying their blue eggs for breakfast in about 6 months!
We had a wonderful visit from a very talented local artist, Dan Schultz. He and Steve spent the morning painting the view of the valley from the bottom of our land. Daisy, Buttercup, and our new little donks, Blossom and Huckleberry ("Huck") fancy themselves art critics!
I took a screen shot from Dan's instagram (danschultzart) of the painting that Dan created that morning . So beautiful!
Thelma, Louise and Dot continue to get into mischief! We had to fence off our little bathroom garden because our naughty goats started to eat our privacy hedge!. To see the goats in action, check out my instagram feed (velvetandlinen)
We are all enjoying the Spring time garden. I'm hoping to spend a moment in my chaise tomorrow looking out at the lavender and ceanothus in bloom.
I hope that your Mother's Day is filled with beauty and the people and little beings that bring you joy!
I also wanted to thank all of you that left comments about our new book "Patina Farm". Our book editor, Madge Baird, reminded me that our book will be published in Spring 2016. I guess I was a little ahead of myself!
