When we opened our store 4 years ago, furniture shows became a part of our life. We made it a point to visit most of the major trade shows in the United States and discovered some fantastic resources.
Each time we traveled to a furniture market, there were always a few booths that stood out above the rest. These creations drew us into the unique world of the furniture designers. They weren't filled with randomly placed furniture pieces in a cubicle. Instead, they were fully realized worlds that evoked a strong emotional response.
One of the companies that never disappoints us is Eloquence. Whether we are walking into their venue at Highpoint in North Carolina...

or just driving to the furniture market in downtown Los Angeles, Steve and I always feel as if we are being transported to a romantic European antique shop whenever we enter the world of Eloquence.

It wasn't long after we opened our store that we met Kim Redmond and Amelia Cooke, the founders and design team behind Eloquence. Their passion and joy for what they do was evident in the first couple of minutes of our initial meeting, and we became hooked on their aesthetic and their designs. They shared our passion for beautiful Europena antiques and our belief that these pieces are what bring a sense of history to a space.

When I first met Kim and Amelia, they were primarily importers of European antiques. They also had a small reproduction line comprised primarily of bedroom pieces. The Sophia Bed was one of the first Eloquence designs that we used in a design project.

Althouh they still import fantastic European antiques, in the last year Kim and Amelia have focused on expanding their reproduction furniture line. From my first viewing, I was impressed by the Eloquence Collection because of the attention Kim and Amelia pay to the smallest details. Since the pieces are inspired by antiques found during Kim and Amelia's travels to Belgium, France and Holland, all of the Eloquence furniture pieces have an authentic scale and gorgeous detailing.
Here are a few of my favorite new Eloquence furniture pieces...
Realizing that there was a limited selection of feminine desks in the marketplace, Kim and Amelia designed The Coco Madame Desk. Coco is a gorgeous double sided desk with gilt accents that can be ordered with opposite drawers (partner style) or on the same side.

The original Contessa Entry Table was found in Provence. This elegant table's clean lines have made it one of the Eloquence Collection best sellers.

The honed marble top is a beautiful detail!

It's the details and the proportions that give the Eloquence furniture pieces their charm. The Corsican Side Table is no exception.

The antique mirror top is complimented by an aged sandy white wood base.

Based on an original piece found in Lyon, France, the Avignon Drapery Table, in stripped natural wood, is the perfect option for a long console or a beautiful kitchen island. I could even image using it as a double sink base.

I can't wait to use the St. Remy Tressel Table in one of my projects. Inspired by an antique painters tressel set, this versatile table can work double duty as a dining table or a desk.

The sculptural iron base is both beautiful and strong enough to support the white washed wood top.

Another new iron table in the Eloquence Collection is The Sur la Sorgue Table. Its curved lines and rust finish are reminiscent of the romantic pieces you can find at many of the French flea markets.

On a trip to Provence last June, Kim and Amelia found a barn filled with a collection of Napoleon and 18th Century furniture frames (only in Provence!). They purchased the entire lot, which inspired their new upholstery line.
The Duchess Bergere and Ottoman is upholstered in a light gray linen...

with an antique white wood frame.

A more deconstructed version of the Duchess Bergere and Ottoman is upholstered in tufted olive linen paired with a rich medium wood finish.

The Napoleon Bergere is a little more sleek, but still has romantic curves. It comes upholstered in gray hemp....

as well as white striped cotton.

Are you in love yet? Now do you understand why I'm such a big fan of the Eloquence Collection?
Not only are Kim and Amelia passionate about their art, they are also incredibly generous. How generous? In celebration of their newly expanded Eloquence Collection, Kim and Amelia have offered to give away a pair of these beautiful, classic Amelie Rose Bergere here on Velvet and Linen!

Upholstered in tufted gray hemp, a pair of these chairs will fit perfectly anywhere in your home! Their curved supportive back, will make them the most comfortable chairs you own.

As if that wasn't generous enough, Kim and Amelia have also offered to give away one of their gorgeous Rousseau Bookcases! The slate blue interior is the perfect color to enhance your display.

A close up of the Rousseau's aged white finish with gilt accents is evidence to the attention paid to every authentic detail of each of the Eloquence pieces.
