We are beginning to select my appliances for Patina Farm. In a previous post, I mentioned that I was leaning towards a Lacanche range, but what color? what style?
The classic color for the Lacanche is this gorgeous matte black. I think it looks fantastic in this kitchen, paired with Belgian bluestone. However, since I'm going to have cream limestone counter tops, I think the black will be a little too dark.
This stainless steel Lacanche is a real beauty! I love the addition of a couple brass knobs. And that hood? Wow!
Although I like the stainless steel option, I think the enamel colors have more depth and richness.
This was one of the images that convinced me to choose the ivory enamel. It will work perfectly with the creamy Balzac limestone counter tops.
Although I received dozens of emails and comments from Lacanche owners sharing nothing but fabulous reviews of their ranges, I wasn't ready to make such an important decision without seeing a Lacanche in person.
Fortunately, our trip to New York came at the perfect time. I contacted Elisa Waysenson, the beautiful and incredibly helpful East Coast Director of Operations and Sales for Lacanche, who invited me to visit the showroom in New York.
The showroom is still under construction, but that didn't stop me and Elisa! Elisa spent almost an hour, patiently answering all of my questions.
One of my main concerns was the size of the ovens. Were they large enough? After seeing the ample size of the ovens in this Sully, I had no more worries.
Leila knew that she would be able to fit several cookie sheet into our Lacanche. Plus, the electric oven would bake cupcakes perfectly.
It was also helpful to see all of the finishes for the fittings. The mixing of stainless and brass knobs looks fantastic next to the cream enamel sample!
The brass ages beautifully!
I can just imagine how wonderful the Lacanche will look with my new Barber Wilsons faucet.
Elisa helped me select the right configuration for my range. I've decided on the Sully with a warming cupboard on one side and a storage cupboard on the other.
The warming and storage cupboards will have stainless steel counter tops.
Thank you Elisa for all of your help and for a fantastic evening, including dinner at ABC Kitchen (I highly recommend it!).
Our trip to New York also gave us the opportunity to meet with Edie Van Breems of the design team Eleish Van Breems.
Edie was kind enough to bring a few samples of the Swedish wallpaper that they sell on their Dering Hall website.
It was such a treat to see artist Eva Badenhorst's work in person!
Thank you, Edie, for driving into town and carrying those heavy canvases to our hotel!
We have now made a few more decisions for Patina Farm. Only a few more thousand decisions to go! LOL...
Happy week.
