During this time of year when it seems that all we do is spend, spend, spend, it's always a wonderful treat to find something that is beautiful and free!
My latest free obsession is rue magazine. During the last week, if my kids couldn't find me when they first walked in the door, they knew to look for me in my bedroom. There I would be on my bed with my laptop reading the new December/January issue of rue. I rarely read a magazine from cover to cover, but rue is filled with gorgeous images and inspiring articles about design.
Because I'm a decorator and a store owner here in Los Angeles, I found the article about the talented Los Angeles based design team Nickey-Kehoe to be of particular interest.
Having just bumped into Todd Nickey at the flea market last Sunday, I wasn't surprised to see that their shop is filled with interesting, unique pieces (beautifully photographed for this article by Teri Lyn Fisher).
I also enjoyed learning about Amy and Todd's design philosophy.
I loved reading Amy and Todd's "Can't Live Without" list.
So, if you need to take some time off from fighting the mall crowds, why don't you grab your computer, a hot cup of tea, and immerse yourself in the beautiful world of rue magazine!
