I spent most of the weekend at home working in the garden. As I have mentioned before, I find gardening to be very relaxing, almost like meditating (bear with me, I'm from Los Angeles!)
Believe it or not, many of my roses are still blooming. These blush pink beauties are my favorites.
When we built our home 8 years ago, we planted white rose vines at the base of the Palm trees in the front of our home. 8 years later, the vines have grown over 10 feet tall!
Although my roses think it's still summer, my Liquid Amber trees give my garden a burst of Autumn color.
These trees have inspired a new color scheme in my bedroom. No major changes... just a few new pillows. I can't wait to show them to you when they are finished!
Behind our small gate, I've added several rows of ornamental kale in front of the silvery Lavender hedge.
I've also planted new vegetables in our kitchen garden and trimmed the thyme that edges each of our planter boxes.
Miniature celery stalks are growing next to my sprouting carrots in front of new field greens.
Groups of red and bright green lettuce heads share a box with parsley and sweet pea vines.
Farther back in the planter, stalks of Swiss Chard are almost ready to eat!
In one of the other boxes, green and ruby cabbage grow next to my fledgling cauliflower plants.
The large industrial shelves are the perfect storage spot for extra pots and annuals.
I placed a some extra pansies in a pot on the table next to my garden tools.
By the late afternoon today, the skies were dark with rain clouds. It was time to abandon the garden and get warm by the fire...
I sat by the fire planning my next give away....
I'll give you a little (big) hint...
I hope you had a relaxing weekend!
