Thank you for all of your wonderful comments about our summer projects around the house. I promised that I would post about our children's study when the burlap window treatments were up, so here they are...
As I mentioned in the last post about this room, we used Home Depot drop cloths for the shade lining.
We decided to put the shades inside the trim of the window (inside mount) instead of above the trim to make the shades a little slimmer and less bulky.
We made a simple burlap curtain (hung on a stainless steel rod) for the closet that holds all of the kids' books and supplies.
I love the natural texture that the burlap adds to the room.
On the other side of the hallway, we hung a piece of homasote covered in another large Home Depot drop cloth. The homasote works wonderfully as a pin up board and a place to hang a white board.
Now that the kids are home from camp, this room is getting a lot of use. There are marker stains on the counter top, scratches on the leather chairs, water marks on the steel topped work table, and dings on the wood stools. In other words, it's never looked better :)
I also want to thank all of you who left comments about my bathroom. I love reading them! We are busy finishing that room as well... hanging pictures and waiting for the new window treatments. Stay tuned!
