Leila and I will be busy in our garden this weekend. The strawberries, herbs, and veggies are starting to grow quickly! We need to start attaching the tomato vines and the sugar snap peas to our pyramid trellis, and begin to thin out the carrots so they won't be over-crowded. I hope to have more pictures to share in the next week!
In the meantime let's visit in a beautiful French garden of a home that Steve designed....
Cyprus trees line the driveway...
The chalky green gates open to reveal the gravel motor court...
The front of the home looks like a classic French Farmhouse.
An understated entry is flanked by lanterns and French planters.
Two antique urns sit atop columns on either side of the iron gates as you enter the back yard.
Several large oil jars covered in roses become focal points around the garden...
Classic square wood planters were placed in the planting beds behind miniature boxwood hedging.
An outdoor dining area with a gravel floor is shaded by a trellis covered in Wisteria vines. I love the green checkered fabric on the chairs!
Another seating area in front of the guest house is a perfect place to relax and watch the kids in the pool.
Let's take a closer look at the guest house...
The Rooster detail on the railing is so very French Country!
The main house is surrounded by gorgeous anduze pots overflowing with greenery.
Several of the large wood planter boxes filled with citrus trees welcome you at the garden side entrance.
An arbor covered in Wisteria vines surrounds the living room doors.
The curtained back porch sits below a balcony off of the master bedroom.
Garden design by David Jones. Interior Decorator and collaborator on this project was Michael Valente, New York.
I hope you get to spend time in your garden this weekend!
