Sometimes the best weekends are the ones when we have nothing planned. Charlie and Nick were busy studying for finals, so Steve, Leila and I hung out around the house, playing in the garden and cooking with the herbs we grew ourselves!
This is how our garden looked just four weeks ago...
We are in the process of adding lemon thyme, marjoram, and lavender around the raised planters to add more greenery. I've ordered a lime tree which will be placed in a large cement pot to replace this smaller pot.
The tomato vines have grown over 12 inches!
The rest of the garden is starting to fill in as well. We're waiting patiently for our corn to grow, but our lettuce is almost ready to become salad.
Our strawberries were a delicious part of our Sunday brunch!
Leila was so excited to cut the basil for our Capresse salad that she didn't even let me dry my hair.
Even Bebe couldn't help admiring our little carrot sprouts.
Our little garden is going to be a great project all summer long. We have several other plans for it that I'm looking forward to sharing with you!
I hope you had a sunny weekend :)
