Steve's client's dream was to design a classic California beach house where she could create memories for her children and grandchildren.
John Finton was the builder of this amazing home.
Park your car on Pacific Coast Highway and come on in...
Steve created a stone entry court with a fountain to separate the house from the busy highway.
The living feels like a big barn space with doors that pocket into the wall and open to the view of the Pacific. The limestone floors carry through to the outside.
The paneled library acts as a loft that overlooks the living room. Sliding doors can also close off the library.
Interior designer David Phoenix created a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere.
The home is separated into three areas: the entertaining space (living room and dining room), the family space (kitchen, family, and breakfast area), and the guest wing (consisting of guest rooms, bunk room, and staff quarters).
The open gallery links the three areas of the home.
A cozy family room has a gorgeous view of the water.
The family room opens up to the kitchen and breakfast room.
The dining rooms sits opposite to the library stairway. A wine cellar is below the landing.
Above the dining room is the pine paneled study. A secret bookcase accesses the master bedroom.
Our client wanted four guest rooms for her children.
The master bedroom has 180 degree views of the coast.
The Master Bath has the biggest shower Steve has ever designed. The bath tub has a view of the Pacific Ocean.
Another shot of the library stairway. It creates a tower on the front of the home. The door opens to the wine room.
Walk down the hallway to the guest wing....
Steve's client wanted to have a bunk room for all of her grandchildren.
Let's hang out on the porch off of the living room. We can take a dip in the pool or go surfing in the ocean!
The stairway leads to the master balcony and a crow's nest on the third floor.
Four guest suites also have magnificent views....
Steve and I had the honor of having dinner at Steve's clients' home. It is truly a magical property!
Steve hopes that his client had many memories in this home with her family.... She was one of the loveliest people he has had the honor of working for. Her dream inspired our own home and our own desire to create a home filled with love and happy memories.
This home is now for sale. For more information please contact Chris Cortazzo. All images are from his website.
