Those of you who read my post from April 29th already know that I purchased some gorgeous items, including 1050 leather books, from my friend's house sale. I couldn't resist taking some of the pieces home for a short visit before they make their way to the store.
Rearranging any of the rooms in my home always adds a little chaos in the beginning...
Calm is restored once everything finds a place...
The bookshelves filled with leather books make a wonderful back drop for a pair of gorgeous Flemish panels.
A stack of larger leather books serves as a side table next to a Gustavian chair.
The cream chair really stands out in front of the aged brown leather.
Steve and I like to mix things up a bit, so we kept the industrial bench and added a parchment trunk. Together they work as a coffee table in the center of the room.
I brought one of the faded blue rugs home from the store. It adds a bit of muted color to the room.
The rug also ties in nicely with the pillows and artwork.
Parchment books, a decanter filled with roses from my garden, shells and old plaster castings from Giannetti Studios create a beautiful neutral vignette on my mantel.
I placed more roses from my garden in a vintage trophy as well.
I couldn't help including one garden picture. My garden just goes crazy this time of year!
More leather books found a home on the bookshelves in my family room. I love the way they look with my sailor's valentines that my mom gave me (Thank you mom!).
Now that everything is back in together in our home, I'm off to spend some time in the garden. I'll have some news for you soon about a new garden project I'm working on. I think you're going to love it!
Hope you are enjoying the last moments of your weekend and have a great start to your week. I have jury duty tomorrow(again! Long story. Not very interesting.). More than likely I'll be sitting in a room with nothing to do, so I'd appreciate if you would leave me a comment to read while I wait!
