Whenever Steve and I are in town on the fourth Sunday of the month, we love to wake up early and go to the flea market at the Santa Monica Airport. It's so much fun to walk around and see all of the unique items that the vendors bring to sell. I thought I would share with you a couple of treasures that caught my eye.
We are looking for artwork for our clients' home right now. We found these two lovely landscapes. They were priced very reasonably for original artwork.
Old clock faces always intrigue me. They are a perfect example of the beauty in every day objects. This group make a wonderful instant collection.
I loved how this vendor displayed the clock faces on a plate stand.
We've been trying to find some interesting fabrics for pillows for the store. I liked this blue and white stripe. It had that perfect home spun texture.
All of these quilts from India looked fantastic together.
I bought a couple of these hand loomed silk and linen throws for the store.
The colors and patterns of these textiles are truly inspirational.
The display of African beads was stunning.
I bought some of these brass beads from West Africa for the store...
I also bought a few of these. I like to put a strand over a stack of books. They also look great hanging from a cabinet or in a bowl
I wish I had a place for this beaded chair.
I had to pull Steve away from all of the luggage. They did look great in a stack.
These two pieces were a fantastic color.
These old leather pieces had a wonderful patina.
The army bags with burlap straps were so cool!
Steve liked all of the industrial displays, like this metal stool and gear mold...
and this great pair of pendant lights.
The artistry in the way the vendors display their items was so inspiring.
I spotted all of this beautifully polished hotel silver. They would make wonderful additions to my collection!
I'm always looking for unique accessories for my clients and the store, like these lawn bowling balls. Great for library shelves....
or to display in a big rustic bowl!
Old bottles, breadboards, and enamel canisters were for sale in this booth.
This 19th Century Italian mirror came home with me. The gorgeous aged patina was too much for me to resist.
I hope you found some inspiration this weekend. I know Steve, Princess (a new friend we made yesterday) and I did!
Happy Monday.
