Life is pretty hectic here at the Giannetti house. Sometimes I just have a hard time keeping up. So, this post is part apology, part thank you, and part "this is what I'm up to".
First off, thank you to the wonderful dynamic duo, Kelly and Victoria at
Design Ties for giving me this award! I have never been given such a yummy award! Thank you!
Next, thank you to my bloggy friend, Alice at
Searching for Style for tagging me! Sorry it has taken me so long. Alice asked me to share six uninteresting things about myself. Well, I must say that it is hard to narrow it down to just six!
1. I used to think that my favorite flowers were hydrangeas, until Ms. B and her beautiful family gave me these you-could- knock-me-over-with-a-feather gorgeous pink peonies (my new favorite flower). Thank you!
2. I love to dance, preferably to disco. That's right, disco. I'm a product of the 70's and
can't sit down whenever I hear a Donna Summers song! This picture is from a few years ago. My children are now old enough to know that disco isn't cool.
3. I love discovering new artists.
Kathryn Lynch is my new obsession.
Her abstract paintings have a haunting beauty that appeals to me.
Kathryn made her decision to become an artist in her junior year of High School when her mother was dying. Kathryn realized how short life was, and dedicated her life to creating beauty.
Kathryn's art will be included in a show at the Manhattan
Sears-Peyton Gallery from July 2-August 14, for those of you lucky enough to live nearby.
4. I really enjoy discovering new resources for my projects and my shop.
Our wonderful Gina is always sending me great links. Her latest:
Robert Abbey.
Their Double Gourd lamp gives you the look of Christopher Spitzmiller at a fraction of the price.
They have some interesting industrial inspired furniture, like this barstool.
This globe has an authentic vintage feel. Love the colors.
They make these fantastic shadow boxes.

5. I'm not the out doors-y type of gal. I really want to be, but I'm not. Last summer's river rafting trip was my idea. The kids loved it. I came back with a cold and diaper rash from being in the water 12 hours a day. That's me, unrecognizable with the big floppy hat on the left. I took a lot of photos so that my children will remember this trip!
6. If I could go anywhere, I would go to Venice again and visit Mariano Fortuny's home.
His home is now a Museum. Steve and I stumbled upon it by accident.
We could view Fortuny's studio through a glass window.
The walls in the main space are draped in original Fortuny designed fabric panels.
Fortuny's artwork is magnificent.
Steve and I were so inspired by Fortuny that we purchased one of his chandeliers for our studio.
I hope you found my 6 uninteresting things worth the read.
