I hate when Steve takes on a project that is far away. But when one of Steve's favorite clients asked him to design her beach house in Maine, Steve just couldn't resist.
This is Steve's sketch of the main house. It is a classic Maine shingle and stone home.
A covered porch lines the back of the house. It will be a great place to hang out during those long relaxing summer days.
The stone chimney has a little nook for wood during the winter. The different roof lines keep the home from feeling too boxy.
The two story windows are wonderful. The glassed in sun room is going to be such a great place to relax, read and enjoy the view.
This is a house in the same neighborhood. The stone and shingles on the home that Steve designed will be very similar to the materials used on this home.
This is a sketch of the two story entry of the main house. Love the wood beams and the second floor landing looking at the view...
In case you were wondering, this is the view!
Although I love Steve's design of the main house, it is the barn that makes me swoon!
The barn is the charming little building on the left in this sketch.
Aren't those two story tall shutters amazing? Love the stone chimney, the two story windows, and the bay window hanging off the side of the second story.
Here is the view of that little bay.
This is a sketch of the inside of the barn. I love the open loft feeling. I could definitely live here.
Steve is going back to check on the progress at the end of the month. This is what the main house looks like now.
All of the beams are going in...
I can't wait until it's complete! I hope we get to be guests in the barn.
