I want to thank Vanessa de Vargas for asking Steve and I to host this month's  Design Network Group event at our studio.

Not only does Vanessa organize all of the DNG events, she is an amazing designer.

The DNG events are a wonderful way to meet other people in the design field and chat about what they are working on.

My design associates, Lisa and Gina did an amazing job helping to organize everything for the evening. I don't know what I would do without them!

Of course, the magnificent Mary helped too, but she had to leave before I got to take a picture!

As always, Tony was there to make sure everything went as planned.

a beautiful neutral palette

I was so excited to get these images from our photographer, Tracey Landworth!

I planned to do one post on the entire project, but I just can't wait. 

I just loved this image. I think it captures the feeling of this home when you first enter the front door.  We used Farrow and Ball "Farrow's Cream" on the walls in the entry vestibule. It is such a warm and inviting color.

The dining room is to the left of the entry. 

The buffet is a gorgeous piece from Dessin Fournir. Their finishes are incredible.

The library that was the subject of one of my recent posts is across the entry from

the dining room.

The living room spans the back of this beautiful home.

This home has an open floor plan. This kitchen is next to the living room.

The library ladder is a great way to reach those tall cabinets.

my front door has never looked so gorgeous!

Recently I discovered the incredibly talented Michelle Morelan's blog A Schematic Life. If you don't know about Michelle, you must check out her blog! Not only is she a talented Interior Designer, but her renderings are absolutely beautiful.

I remember seeing this one of a fellow blogger's villa in Provence.  I felt like I could have walked into the painting and taken a gorgeous vacation. I loved these renderings of Michelle's concepts for the White House sitting room off the Queens bedroom. Michelle's water colors allowed me to completely imagine the space she would design for Michelle Obama's mother. 

One of my favorites  is this rendering Michelle painted of a Master Bedroom designed by the gifted and inspiring Patricia Gray. Michelle really captured the calm beauty of Patricia's design. You can see the whole post that includes the original image of the room here.

I secretly wished that Michelle would paint one of my projects. At least I thought I wished secretly! Imagine my surprise when I received this from Michelle!

beautiful swedish furniture!

It's Friday! So, it must be time to celebrate with Julia's Hooked on Friday's party.

What am I hooked on this week? My beautiful Swedish furniture! It arrived yesterday in the shop, and Mary did an amazing job of arranging the displays!

Many of the Swedish pieces are designed to serve multiple purposes, like this

chest of drawers that turns into a desk.

 

I love the simple diamond detail of this tall cabinet.

The beautiful carving on this settee makes me smile.

     

These sweet demi-lune tables are another example of the ingenuity of Swedish design. When they weren't being used as a round table, each half could be pushed up against the wall as a console.

A few of the beautiful details that made me fall in love with these lovelies.

     

I have always adored tall Swedish clocks. So when I saw these gorgeous ladies, I knew they had to visit our shop.
