I met Linda and Lindsay Kennedy many years ago at a flea market. They were selling gorgeous antiques. Linda is Swedish, and she and Lindsay started to go on buying trips there and import antiques to the U.S. I fell in love with the muted colors and slim lines of all of their pieces.
A couple of years later, Linda and Lindsay opened their store Chloe Decor. It was one of the first places I would take clients to find special one of a kind pieces. I was so sad when Linda told me that she was closing the store. Of course, it was selfish of me to be sad, since Linda and Lindsay were moving on to new projects. Lindsay opened a very successful restaurant called "The Village Idiot", and Linda is opening a floral design studio.
I went to visit Linda at her beautiful home today. I thought you would enjoy these photos.
Linda's pine floors set the tone for her home. They are simple and beautiful. She slip covers her furniture in a natural linen that has a wonderful homespun texture.
The shape of this ottoman is so charming.
Linda has several of these beautiful desks with a clock on top This kind of desk works out well for small spaces, since you can close the top and store the chair next to it.
This is the main living space in their home. The aged patina on the gate leg table caught my eye the minute I walked in the door. The placement of her couch by the table makes a comfortable sitting area.
A linen wing chair sits next to a tall cabinet that also works as a desk.
This pulpit works well as a small table next to the front door. The branches add some fall color to the Kennedy's home.
The view from the front door. The corner cabinet is a great idea for utilizing the space
Off of the main room is this sun drenched room. I can imagine spending time in there reading and relaxing.
Apparently, I wasn't the only one who loved this space!
I fell in love with the shape of these chairs. The wood carving on them is gorgeous.
Wouldn't it be fantastic to have dinner in here every night?
Their dining chairs are fantastic. The detailing is just lovely.
A neutral display that works so well with Linda's furnishings.
The Swedish grey cabinet in the dining room is not only beautiful but functional.
Even Linda's dish towels make a lovely display.
In Linda and Lindsey's bedroom I fell in love with this cabinet. I think it is my favorite.
Doesn't it look fantastic with the pink roses and parchment books?
A simple table next to the bed.
Linda's dog was enjoying the view from her bedroom as much as I was.
Thank you Linda for a wonderful treat!
