My Mom is a visual artist. Whether she is decorating her home or setting a table for one of her fabulous parties, my Mom creates vignettes that touch people emotionally. Visitors walk into her home and fall in love.
On our recent visit for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary, I asked my mom if I could share her gift with you....
My Mom and I share a love for pale pink palettes, women, and sea shells.

These antique bisque figurines look like they are having great fun among the birds in my Mom's display cabinet.
On the other side of the cabinet, a small seated figure relaxes next to a vintage hat embellished with faded velvet violets. A jeweled encrusted butterfly appears ready to take flight.
My parents have an extensive collection of large perfume display bottles. They keep most of them in a dramatic group on the shelves of their television cabinet.

The Chanel No 5 bottles have been favorites of mine since childhood.
My Mom also has several gorgeous lamps made by her long time friend, Kathleen Caid. Kathleen creates each lamp using vintage fabrics and figurines. They are all one of a kind treasures!
This is one of my favorites. Isn't she fabulous!
When my Mom lived in Los Angeles, we used to love going to the flea markets together. This tapestry was a surprise gorgeous find!
My Mom understands that collections are more dramatic when displayed together.

It is only recently that I've realized how much my Mom has influenced my style. I'm so grateful to her for showing me how important it is to create a beautiful home.
