the bird panel dilema....

We decided to leave Marburger for a little while and take a drive toward Roundtop. That's when I found these. It was love at first sight. 

There are actually four panels, but I could only afford to buy two. I would hang them on the wall in the dining area of my home in Channel Islands. They are a bit pricey, but I think the vendor  might be willing to negotiate a bit. What do you think? It's a big decision.

This is where they would go. I would take down my panels and my little bird prints.

Here is one of the images that the vendor e-mailed me yesterday (oh the torture!).

Look at those peacocks. Aren't they beautiful? And they are the perfect muted colors for the space. 

You'd really be helping me out by letting me know what you think. Should I buy them?

i think i may have walked across texas

Yesterday I kissed my kiddies before they went to school and flew off to Austin Texas to do a little antique shopping at Round Top. 

Our fist stop was Marburger. Thank you to Dinah and Kim from Cobblestone and Vine  for meeting us there. 

I purchased some great ironstone pieces for the shop. They are going to look great in our Swedish cabinet.

These next two pictures are for Steve. He loves vintage hat molds!

The vendors at Marburger are fantastic at displaying their merchandise. I wanted to buy everything! (Well, except the taxidermy. Not my thing. I like my animals alive).

This was one of my favorite vendors. Love the combination of well worn painted furniture, aged gilding and vellum books. 

These are coming home with me!

Same with these ruffled paged beauties.

This vendor had some very interesting industrial inspired lighting.

Some of these vintage bathing beauties are going to make a wonderful vignette at the shop, don't you think?

I couldn't resist this one...

The muted colors of this suit is perfect for our home in Channel Islands. 

I'd love to put this mantel somewhere, but I had to pass it by...

I took this picture for my son Nick. He always complains about having to carry his saxophone to school. Hey Nick, it could be worse!

Don't worry Steve, I didn't buy this huge stack of luggage, but I wanted to. Don't they look great?

Magnolia Pearl does a stupendous job of setting up a romantic store inside one of the many tents at Marburger to sell their beautiful clothing.

And the best part? Spending the day with Joni from Cote de Texas. Yes, she, Angela and I shopped and sweated the day away together. What a bonding experience.
