When I begin thinking about a design project, I tend to fill my head with images. My design process for the bathrooms at Patina Farm has started that way as well.
I found myself saving images of bathrooms that felt casual and collected.
Almost all of the bathrooms were designed around a piece of furniture that was repurposed as a sink base by drilling holes for sinks and...
adding towel bars.
Some of the pieces were quite shallow and required the use of a wall mount faucet, which I like very much.

As Steve and I headed off to Snyder Diamond this past weekend to look for bathroom plumbing fixtures, I knew that the images, now imbedded in my head, would inform the selections we would make.

We chose the Fairfield wall mount faucet in unlacquered brass by Newport Brass for Leila's bathroom. It's clean lines are classic and timeless.
The Fairfield Collection also has a simple shower set.
Leila liked this Hancock vessel sink from Waterworks. I quickly bought it on sale this week on One King's Lane!
I found this little Swedish console table on one of my favorite antique websites Tone on Tone. Leila loved the color and thought it would make the perfect sink base for her bathroom.
Since Leila will have a medicine cabinet behind a framed painting, and a storage cabinet made from an antique door, having a sink base with no drawers will not be an issue.
We are also going to use the Fairfield wall mount faucet in unlacquered brass in Nick's bathroom.
We chose this rectangular vessal sink by Kraus.
It will sit on top of this 19th Century German Pine table that I found on sale at Bonny Neiman.
The table has a nice apron for a towel bar (also in unlacquered brass):
I'm going to wait until the piece arrives before I select the exact laundry basket that will go underneath, but it will probably be something like this...
The floors in both bathrooms will be cream colored limestone in random widths, similar to this in color.
The entire family is getting excited about our move to Patina Farm! We spent some time in Ojai on Sunday, where we met our neighbors' extended family, including this little guy.
Oh, I think I need a mini horse!
