Congratulations, Brooke! This has definitely been your year. I remember your New Year's post, and all the things you were hoping for.....put it out there in the universe and it *will* happen :D
Your clients' kitchen is *gorgeous*. I can see why Food & Wine would want to feature it.

Great article, and I love your use of organic materials. Have no fear of nicks and stuff; liquid beeswax and the like go a long way in France on the same materials!

Whoohoo! Fantastic! So happy for you both. You have worked hard to put all of this in motion and deserve all of this success. Another great article, very concise and great ideas. I am so tired of all of the mega perfect kitchens--we all don't live in a Diane Keaton movie now do we? ;)
Bisous!

You ROCK with the inclusion in yet another magazine, you are going to have to clone yourself soon! The kitchen, fabulous. We actually have a very similar pendant light over our eat-in kitchen table (same look, lower price). I LOVE the cabinets with glass and window looking out, wish I thought of it for our recent kitchen reno! Great overall look. Brave to put the marble all the way up the walls, LOL, it is tres chic and FAB. xoxoxo Pat

Congratulations Brooke & Steve! I love that kitchen, it has such a timeless look, it could have been built yesterday or 10 years ago...it will never show its age by looking tired. It's great design. I'll pick up the issue of Food and Wine.

Lovely! But what does "surface mounted" mean for lights? Is this versus recessed lights? I didn't quite follow.

Hi Fiona.
Yes, surface mounted fixtures are different than recessed can lights.
The lights in the our clients' kitchen that is featured in this article are an example of surface mounted fixtures.

Hi Brooke
I love this post and this is a wonderful kitchen, but I had difficulty locating a Food and Wine magazine this evening to read the whole story. I wanted to find out more about your wood counter top including what finish (if any) is used. Your philosophy of and ours is so similar. We build and finish our furniture in the same way. It has been so popular with our clients, especially those with children. We almost don't do it any other way anymore. We called it a "living finish" at the time and didn't see anyone else using that term, but now I see the term has been used to describe uncoated metal on plumbing fixtures that is allowed to age and change with time. Congratulations, this looks fantastic!
