Last week I shared with you the beginning of Steve's chair design process. This is what The Clive chair looked like then:
This week Clive got a little meat on his bones, or in his case some fill and muslin! He's looking pretty good. Just a couple more tweaks (slimmer arms, a little wider in the back) and he'll be ready for his leather!
In the last post I neglected to introduce you to Chloe. She's a little vanity chair that we're working on. Here is what she looked like then:
This week, Chloe also received her muslin.
We're starting to work on her skirt. I'm imagining something that drapes a bit on the floor, although not quite as much as in this image. I want it to feel a bit romantic.
We also decided to remove the loose seat cushion. It felt too thick, so we're going to have the seat as part of the chair.
I've been looking for the perfect slipper chair for a long time, but I've never found one that was just right. So, Steve is designing The Brooke. Last week she was just a frame.
What a difference a week makes! Brooke looks wonderful with all of her tufting. She still needs her casters and her home spun linen upholstery, but I'm thrilled with the way she's coming out!
All three chairs have gone back to be upholstered in their final fabrics. I'm hoping to share them with you next week.
I'd love to hear what you think so far!
Have a great weekend!
