Steve, Angela, and I were fortunate enough to be introduced to the beauty of Atlanta by my friend Leslie, who I spoke about here. Being the Arts Editor of Veranda Magazine, Leslie knows all of the best antique dealers, shop owners and designers in town.
Our first stop was the "please don't pinch me because if I'm dreaming I don't want to wake up" gorgeous antique shop owned by
Linda Horsley.
When we first entered Linda's shop we were greeted by this gorgeous 19th Century plaster
"Bust of the Actress".
One of Linda's magnificent table scapes comprised of old books and antique shells and coral on a beautiful silver tray.
Beautifully aged books were piled in a variety of places in her shop.
This lamp's tattered linen shade cover was so charming.
A pair of gilt wooden tassles on a stack of antique leather books shimmer in the light of small table lamp.
The ruffled pages of this stack of books mimic the ruffles of the shell displayed on top of them.
This gorgeous set of parchment books really pop against the burnt red interior of this early 19th Century
Swedish Secretary.
The walls in Linda's shop are painted a beautiful chalky green brings out the best in all of her pieces, like her
18th Century Sofa
A few of Linda's beautiful vignettes....
Linda has a pair of these hand painted decorative peacock fans. I think they were my favorite pieces in the shop. So unique!
The top detail of Linda's beautiful drapes. Linda used "bump" as the fabric for her draperies. Her ability to make gorgeous draperies out of a fabric that is usually used as a drapery lining is what makes Linda's shop so unique.
The beautiful edge detail of Linda's drapery. So pretty!
Linda is planning on framing these botanicals on the simplest crape packing paper...
The creamy color and ruffled edge of the crape paper will be the perfect matte for the botanicals.
Linda's dog, Twill looked right at home in the shop.
Angela, me (next to Linda), and Leslie had a wonderful visit.
Thank you Linda and Twill!
