My client and I have been working on her guest room for several weeks now, but we have been unable to pull the whole room together. So we made a trip to
The Rug Company in search of inspiration.
They have a wonderful showroom in L.A. I always take a minute to sit on this George Smith tufted couch. The peacock blue velvet is wonderfully paired with Durbar Hall rug in lime green and gray.
I adore the curvaceous lines of this George Smith slipper chair in gray leather.
All of the displays are a feast for the eyes. Who wouldn't be inspired by these beauties?
Or these...
Their beautiful catalogue is filled with gorgeous images. This one of their Candy Flower rug
designed by Marni is one of my favorites. When using a rug as fantastic as this one all other pieces in
the room are better left simple with just touches of color.
Doesn't this Kim Parker Mums & Asters rug look wonderful paired with a mirrored chest?
I love how dramatic this rug looks in this dark room.
The Rug Company also has a bespoke rug service. We just made this Overleaf rug in greens and blues to match the fabrics we are using in my clients' master bedroom. It looks beautiful. You'll have to wait until February to see it!
They also do some wonderful graphic designs like this Key Turquoise rug by Suzanne Sharp.
We found the perfect rug for the guest room. The silk and wool Moses rug designed by Suzanne Sharp has the exact feeling we were looking for. Here it is with some of the pieces in the room. The Oly
cabinet in dark wood and mirror will sit across from the dark wood bed topped with white linens.
The walls will be covered in Hinson's Madagascar grass cloth.
Shannon is always so helpful and patient. She and Lisa, my design associate, look so beautiful surrounded by those gorgeous rugs!
I can't wait to show you the guest room when it is complete in February!
